Saskatoon finance committee looks ahead to budget planning

SASKATOON –

Saskatoon’s finance committee approved three motions Friday regarding planning for the upcoming budget cycle.

Proposed by Ward 5 Coun. Randy Donauer, the motions call on the administration to report on three proposals:

Cut proposed 2022 and 2023 budgets for all business units by 0.5 percent, saving $2.84 million, according to city finance manager Kerry Tarasoff. by five percent before 2022

The administration will also look at reducing transfers to reserves.

Budget deliberations are scheduled for November 29 to December 1.
