SÃO PAULO, April 19, 2021 / PRNewswire / – We are informing capital market players that Itaú Unibanco raised $ 400 million from the United States International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) in the international market in March 2021 (1).
The bank plans to expand its credit lines to SMEs, with a particular focus on economically fragile regions such as the north and northeast of Brazil and businesses that are majority controlled or run by women.
This initiative underscores one of our positive impact commitments, namely inclusion and entrepreneurship, aimed at improving the financial management of very small and small businesses by offering suitable products and services. One of the goals of this commitment is to increase the volume of credit granted to female entrepreneurs.

(1) DFC’s partnership with Itaú Unibanco illustrates its focus on regions of the world where women face their greatest challenges and where this investment can have the most positive impact, especially given the current aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic . This investment fosters DFC initiatives, which have catalyzed more than US $ 7 billion of private sector investment in economic inclusion projects targeting women entrepreneurs in developing countries.
